If time passed 30 +1

estebandido | 1 October 2009

And the time to cross the barrier of the 30's arrived.

It has been a long way from celebrating my 30's last year in South Korea . Today, again in Ecuador, in the haughty and Sovereign Nation, celebrating this birthday with my loved ones, although some in the distance but I know that with me.

Very interesting all this year to know that you are at the age where everyone will look more serious, although I say that I can still go from 26 or 27, but hey that's why I'm well preserved.

These 365 days have been great. I finished my Master , I competed in many races and improved my times, but also spent a few months injured, but the best thing this year was to share with my Father his lifelong dream of reaching the Great Wall of China (soon will post the photos on Flickr), and since not only were there but we got to the roof of the world Tibet , the Phi Phi Islands and Angkor Wat , it was great to re-find ourselves in this time the two and know that we are not only father and son, but also friends and that all dreams can be achieved in this life.

Million thanks to SMS, calls, e-mails, tweets, and the FB messages from around the world (seriously, I too was surprised.) With friends like you for more, and for those who still have not done it are still in time, the day is still long.

I share with you the official photo of my 31st birthday, not that it is an angel, but I think this costume is fine for me or not?

Backpacking in Asia 101

estebandido | 12 July 2009

Yes, the truth is I've been writing on the blog lately not as often, but not for not wanting to do it, I have visitors in late June in Seoul, so I walked with them for hand and in turn also began our journey we've been planning for some months.

So good I now have time to like this going on our trip and everything that happens on this side of the world.

Travel Background
During all this time in Korea I have traveled parts of the country, but always had in mind to take a trip to neighboring countries, in addition my dad has always had in mind to visit China and come to realize his dream of stepping on the Wall of China, and talk and conversation between my cousin Fredy appeared and joined the pool of potential travelers, in addition more people wanted to come but in the end only my dad and Fredy confirmed the trip.

And we're back

estebandido | 28 June 2009

After nearly eight weeks without writing anything on the blog flight to retake it.

Thanks to those who have written asking what has happened in these weeks, and also to those who have written asking questions about some settings in Ubuntu for their laptops.

I tried to answer what I've been, but in future weeks I hope to catch up with a tutorial of 9.04 for HP.

Why have I been missing? as many good things have happened, since completing the thesis, provide a first draft, corrections, defense of it and good at the end the graduation which was given a few days ago.

In short, I've been full with the University, my dissertation was approved I have been asked to write an article for a journal, and well I finished my Masters, which was the goal to get here, so mission accomplished.

Graduation / The Graduation Day

Thanks everyone, keep posting and good hope in the coming days, I have many things to write and count, has been a great trip so there will be much to write.

What more must be done to appear in the media?

estebandido | 4 May 2009

Read the newspapers online has become part of daily routine in the middle of my coffee before going to college. I check several newspapers, both the Basin such as Quito and Guayaquil, and well think that this distance I can have a pretty good idea of what is happening in my country.

Recently I was more aware than ever, especially in the sports, for news of the races of the Cruces Basin . For obvious reasons the local media coverage given to it, but the truth on national means nothing comes out, just for them three traditional races in this country did not exist 45 years from the Circuit de las Cruces , 42 years Borota Circuit Richard Child , and 11 years of race walking Luis Chocho .

I ask myself, what should Cuencanos to appear on these national media?, Or is that perhaps, if not in Quito or Guayaquil skills do not matter.

As an athlete I can say that when we heard running, is through "word of mouth, and if we see a competition in another province, is because they show the results of what had been the day before in a short note lost in the paper.

Eye not only with events like this a few days ago was the same with Deportivo Cuenca. Although I am a fan of Cruz del Vado , which is in second class, I was glad to know that the D. Basin reached a historic step in the Libertadores, and for truth in media Basin was published this, but for the media in Quito and Guayaquil both press and TV, truth was no great feat, and it was as it happened, point.

Again I ask, is that just like bad news for the provinces to publish?, Is that perhaps rank next round of freedom is not something so big?, Or have a career for 45 years and having been a hotbed of the most great distance runners of the country is not enough?.

Both D. Circle Cross Cuenca del Vado, are traditional clubs in the heart of Cuenca, and do great things not only the city but across the country, or perhaps there is jealousy and regionalism also in the media? or just remember the Cuenca, when they become champions and win medals?

I sincerely hope not.

In races with the thesis

estebandido | 27 April 2009

What do I write now? - And now I write? These past weeks have been crazy, missing only a few days to deliver the first draft of the thesis, and he is mad, the days seem short, when I look at the clock and are 22h00 or 02h00.

The University closes at two in the morning the campus, so until then I can be out there, but I stay low key, and one day I went, I thought it was unique but I found that many students were still studying.

But good among bad nights and early mornings every day, I went out to run a few days in the last week to loosen the muscles, since so much about sitting, it hurts all, but good addition since February and had planned to run the Adidas 10K of MBC Hangang Marathon 2009 with my friend Greg.

This time I can say that the exhaustion of all nights for the thesis did not give me the courage to go for a run, but gradually I got used already, so it was good competition and I have not trained as thoroughly as in the past, I can say that the result has been quite safistactorio.

Adidas MBC Hangang Marathon 2009 My last March I made 10k in 50:15, finished at 48:54 today that really left me happy, so good I'm still in the fight to improve my all my time as my promises for 2009 , last year my best 10K was 57:13.

At the end of it also served to remind me though not on the exact date, which was at present in the preparations for the 2009 Las Cruces , which is coming next week, I know it will be a great success more than the previous year but good view over the Internet will play this year to enjoy it again in 2010.

The opportunity comes, do not stop dreaming

estebandido | 17 April 2009

Almost two years ago I had the opportunity to see a video that moved me greatly, even wrote a post about it .

Reallity was on Brit's Got Talent , one participant was Paul Potts a dreamer, who had his chance and shined.

Today, thanks to a post on his blog Rubi Torres Science / Technology and Sports , I learned of another dreamer who sought his chance at a new version of this reality.

Susan Boyle is his name is 47 years, and the truth that seeing her in the video I was stunned, I think that shocked me even more than when I saw Paul Potts.

When you go on stage people did not believe she could make a good presentation, even had jokes when asked, what is your dream? she said I'm trying to be a professional singer, and why it happened before? asked, she answered, because I never had the chance, but now everything could change.

Enjoy the video, tears are permitted

Everyone has a talent and a mission in life, maybe not easy to find, but when discovered, all is satisfactory.

The week of revenge

estebandido | 17 March 2009

At last the weather has begun to change in Seoul from this week and the temperature reaches 18 degrees, until last week when the temperature was -6 degrees. Although in previous weeks the weather was improving last week was quite a tremendous change as we again begin to feel the cold of winter.

So last week a friend told me that this is the week of "revenge" and said there tell me that, I said what happens is that in Korea there is the belief that when the weather is about to change forever from winter to spring, winter sends us a week but pretty cold by the envy of the arrival of spring, so send us this week for revenge.

Well let me tell you it is true, last week was a terrible cold when we are warm, and already beginning to open all the windows for air, the point that I turn the air conditioning, hehe.

So good, we started the spring and that also means they only months left to go back home, really fast time passes.

The famous Korean Dog Soup

estebandido | 3 March 2009

From the first time I came to Korea I heard a lot about its exquisite food and if they enjoyed it a lot in that time.

Now much more for every month that I am living here, but something I heard from the first time and had not been able to test was the famous " Dog Soup . "

Bosintang (보신탕) or dog soup , is very famous, but also very secret so to speak. All Koreans know it, but nobody says you know they sell here or you can go in this direction is a kind of myth but very real.

The breed of dog that is used for this soup is special, is raised specifically for consumption. There is a soup that is consumed every week since it has a price of 15,000 won (13 USD) per person, a bit expensive for all budgets. The interesting thing about this is that during the hottest days of the year, often in summer, this dish is traditional, so the restaurants will need space to serve the people.

When I asked many colleagues and friends about the famous soup, all have told me they have heard of it, one or two have tried, others have not tried because they say it smells bad (not that I know all) .

The soup itself is now consumed by older people, young people the truth not widely consumed by the topic see dogs as pets, but I have other friends who love it.

My experience

The Ravens Music

estebandido | 1 March 2009

Taste and enjoy listening to music I came for my dad, since I have to remember why he was always with their LPs (Long Plays, vinyl, acetate) in the house playing music, recording their cassettes in the van to take them and where we went we heard everything.

Singers like Leo Dan , Palito Ortega were part of "basic" for the trip, José José , Camilo Sesto , Los Tabajaras , The Huayanay , Nat King Cole , Earthlings , among others were part of the discography traveler, so when many people put those songs I really do not sound odd, I think they are part of my growth.

A group that I liked and that were always reminded Ravens Cuenca group, the era of the 60s - 70s rock and roll gender and ballads, the last time you heard was a tape that goes around the house.

For some time he was trying to find some songs of them, and today I finally accomplished through this website that is called Hard to Get Disk , so I have it and it really sounds great, with that classic sound the LP (scratch), the disc is called "They came The Crows" and what I've read seems to be the only LP that they recorded it, if anyone has it I would like to purchase.
