M3 in the Tungurahua Volcano
estebandido | 16 August 2006 | 17:44A thousand apologies for not updating the blog from long ago, but the truth has not been much to tell and state a little busy with M3 and the campaign of Rafael Correa. In order ...
M3 decided to take a little break to rest, I would have liked to go all, but only 2 we decided to go to the Tungurahua Volcano. Fernando and Esteban (I), plus my cousin Andres.
So I undertook the journey by car borrowed from my brother Fernando a Jeep and Toyota of those classic red for a change.
We left Quito a little late because we had to spend collecting food, and the like, we buy food for this life and the other the truth, and that's not as if we knew where we were going to decide to bring food easy to prepare (tuna, milk, bread, tuna fish more, more bread, etc.), as per the recommendation from my friend Theofilos Toulkeridis geologist recommended that I go to the bath Ambato antennas for better observation of the volcano.
According to the instructions of Theo there are 2 ways to reach the antennas: 1) go up Pelileo and take the path that leads you to the people of (option longest and confident that there are no impediments in the way), and 2) reach Bathrooms Ambato to cross the bridge to escape and raise long (the shortest).
To be sure of reaching the place we decided to take the longer route (until that moment we knew that was not the longest), and rose and rose in the mountains, we were able to appreciate beautiful moments and a dose of 4 x 4, after almost 2 hours of journey we arrived at the famous antennas, to our surprise and almost a tourist place as there is a shop 24 hours, and from which sells fruit, to corn, to drink.
Already in the place started to settle for moving the 3-day trip, and we received the welcome of the volcano with a tremendous explosion that scared us since we are not accustomed to this, we could see the emanation of ash that is impressive to see a phenomenon of nature. The sound of the explosion is like a cañonazo.
And we started camping, Fernando told us that he was leaving for the first time this type of activity, my cousin and I well versed old scouts and a thousand battles Armamar our mini camp, throughout this time we could see some ash plumes from the volcano, the Indeed, it was something unbelievable.
Given the cold conditions of the place where we chose to get wood to make a small campfire at night, which not only helped us to heat food, but to warm to other visitors to the site.
The night became totally blurred, and we heard gunfire heard from the volcano but could not appreciate the pyroclastic flows, were the two o'clock and we were already accommodated in tent when he came an explosion that made us shake with fear, we left the tent for presurosos see something but nothing.
Already in the morning we got up for breakfast and surprise ohh my dear cousin Andrew left their shoes outside the tent and friends gossiping made them walk (they stole), I missed this for the hazing but that could be done, no longer had shoes.
We touched down for bath Ambato to buy some chol (slippers) as the flame, looking and looking and found, the return of the antennas collect as much wood in the jeep for the night.
We spent the whole day resting, sleeping, relaxing, sleeping, and instead found the volcano with more gunfire.
He arrived the night again, this time because we were prepared with plenty of wood, some bottles of zhumir for the night, heat the meal and hope that tonight we could see the spectacle of the volcano, but they know it happened .... anything other night completely blurred, we could not see anything at all.
Already half cansandos so much happier and we were expected to sleep, this time will be saved if Cholas those of my cousin, the last day.
Again for breakfast, disarm the camp as soon as we could, and down to bath Ambato, we wanted to see a little more about what had happened with the volcano, and we started to climb the same, we arrived at the point where the road disappeared in a blast earlier, Pelileo then came back and we decided to go for Bilbao, a little longer but the way it should be stressed that the road was in very good condition.
We arrived at a place face to face with the volcano could see the damage caused in the area and just at that moment there was an explosion that made us run, rising up to the jeep and marched us, it is sad to think that many people live in the area and frightened they have to go out at midnight running for their lives.
I expect the volcano to sleep, and that the people of the area can return to their normal lives.
We returned to Quito, safe and sound, without anything new, let everyone in your house and get home to my girlfriend for their pampering, jejeje.
We hope that next year the whole team M3 anime has been conducting the magical Mystery tour.
