40 years of concert on the roof

estebandido | 31 January 2009

"I hope we Passed the Audition" (I hope we pass the audition) were the last words of John Lennon to name the Beatles , in their last live on the roof of the Apple offices a January 30, 1969.

This presentation was part of one of his most memorable albums "Let It Be", which took apart a movie in which they are practice sessions and recordings of the band.

Originally the album would be called "Get back" because they were trying to return to their roots of rock and roll, but in the end was called "Let It Be".

In the film we see the tension between the group, McCartney too demanding and trying to take the band forward, Ringo and Harrison together but despised at the same time, while Lennon with Yoko no matter what they did.

Promises for 2009

estebandido | 17 January 2009

2008 was a great year, many of the goals I had raised the managed, even some of got over it.

Never had planned to compete in a marathon , so it seemed a little crazy, but when I decided to do and I did the run took another direction. As Rubianes Walter told me the marathon is the competition more attractive for any distance runner, and as it is true.

The mastery another goal accomplished and better than I was planning. Now I'm in Seoul has 6 months to finish and among the best in the class.

Well that as a general summary of the promises of 2008.

Now in 2009 I raised a few goals (not in order of priority):

  • Find my soul mate or find me, interested? write me :)
  • Complete and submit the thesis Masters before leaving Seoul
  • Meet the Great Wall of China
  • Stronger support and time to the Free Software movement in Ecuador and Latin America
  • Participate in athletic competitions and finish 5
  • Improve the marks of my competitions
  • Start Training to compete in 2010 as Iron Man
  • Stop smoking completely
  • Reset M3
  • Starting 1 or 2 personal projects outstanding entrepreneurial
  • Write more frequently on the blog, at least 1 time per week

Well these are the promises for 2009, so all my friends ask you to support me and I will always support them to :)

Licensed to jogging

estebandido | 14 January 2009

The title of this post reminds me of the movie 007 " licensed to kill ", but hey, in the end the only one who can die here I am.

After 5 weeks to compulsory yesterday the doctor gave me the okay to return to jogging yeah!

The pain in her last weeks was for a condition in the knee called iliotibial band syndrome in English known as Iliotibial band syndrome .

As it turns out is a fairly common condition in runners, and for that I am calmer. The recommendation that the doctor gave me these weeks is to go slowly increasing mileage gradually, and to devote more time to warm up and stretch.

So good today at last, I go jogging alone, but with a temperature of -10 C, I went for a jog of 30 minutes, a little discomfort, but with the stretching exercises passed without problem. I put my timer to zero, but before doing that I reviewed last year's total and it was interesting results:

  • 6500 Calories
  • Travel: 1140 miles
  • Exercises: 166

If you've spent a lot of soles last year, so let's see as we travel this year.

The competition schedule begins in Seoul on March 1, so there is still time to get in shape.

Convert flv to mp3 or ogg in Ubuntu

estebandido | 3 January 2009

Today we find many music videos, lectures, films through Youtube , Vimeo , etc. and is very nice to be able to hear songs from years ago that would find them anywhere, well that's my case, that many songs from the 80s not find them.

We can download the videos to play on our computers via a firefox add-on called Download Helper , but when we hear by means of an audio things get complicated.

That is why for GNU / Linux a program called FFmpeg that can be installed through the repositories, or via terminal

sudo apt-get install ffmpeg
