Ready for the Marathon

estebandido | 1 November 2008

Ready for the Marathon Good long-awaited day finally comes, missing just 2 days for completion of JoongAng Seoul Marathon for which I have been preparing well for all these months.

I really am excited and nervous at the same time, be the first time that I will participate in a competition like this, so many nerves there and I just know that I am physically and mentally prepared to do it, period.

Has been a long road to get to the Marathon, I did not think it would be so hard that at times made me want to stop and that is all there, but I feel that everything was worth it so far.

Many do not know the long days between studies and to go out and train in the morning, afternoon or evening, the early hours of weekends to go running to the outskirts of Seoul, and thus has been a sacrifice but I'm happy.

Thanks

As always thanks to everyone who supported me to reach this day, I really am very grateful to Walter Denny Rubianes and Nankervis that from a distance with their e-mails have been in contact with me always helping me with training boards and suggestions based on their experience.

To my great friend Korean Chong Hong Sun , I really consider him a true friend, who has also been outstanding that I do not miss anything and taking me to meet incredible places to train and teach me to eat more meals rare in Korea.

Finally my team as they call themselves anonymous, 4 sisters, also at a distance by e-mail, chat, video have been pending for my food and as always giving me encouragement when I've been half down anymore.

Thank you all for real.

The Anecdotes

These are some of the things that have happened around here during training, some are firsts :)

Thanks to training I met a college professor, he is Hong Chong Sun (check your page very interesting what he has done), a great friend the truth. The Iron Man is a broker and Ultra Marathon (100km), I left him to run sometimes, but the second time we went out to run, I was very tired and still getting into the rhythm of long competitions, we were to run as 20KM and almost died, I was completely dehydrated, I almost fainted, he hit the shock, then gave me some chocolate bars and I got well.

One day I followed the safety of the Blue House (Korea's Presidential Residence ), because he could not run around. I was so quiet running and listening to music on the iPod, when derepente out other security and stopped me, asked me where to go, I said that the main street, then I realized that after my career came another agent but sticking his tongue because he could not catch me hahaha.

One morning a friend decided to go jogging with me, we were all quiet when I overtook a little, I still said no more, if not, we are at home, I returned to complete the house training, and did not arrive, I I started worrying and shows that the return was lost in the end could find the way home but an hour later.

Another night a fellow who decides to go running, go out to do, but seeing our watches, we realized it was midnight, just decided to do it, but at 10 minutes, we fell a heavy rain, we had to walk back and soaked.

I had two accidents. The one on the beach where I found against some rocks and I ended up at the hospital, but luckily the doctor told me it was nothing, to rest a few days and continue, but I bandaged the leg and all. The second accident was on the football field one night, trotting out there, just make a goal happen stands the goal net and I was at full speed in the back arc tangle me in the nets and I fell apart, but pain was the seal of truth, the people who were there training came to me and everything. I got up and said fresh nothing happened, then I realized that my knee was bleeding, was a huge scrape that so far no cure for everything.

Sometimes it happened that the weather forecast failed completely, he said he would not rain and training fell amid a torrential downpour, there were just touched him and falltreck days.

To go to school some days it occurred to me ready to go workout clothes so I was going to finish just one, until one day a teacher asked me as well come with the clothes to school, I said I was going to train and a companion then said out loud, let no more to come so, if all has nice legs, I was red the truth, and everybody laughed.

Well these are some of the stories that have happened and come to my mind this time, I hope you enjoy them.
